Over the past year, I’ve used my graphic design and brand development coursework to begin building Magloire, a fashion brand rooted in culture, storytelling, and style. Named after my maternal grandfather and inspired by the phrase “My Glory” in French, Magloire is more than clothing—it’s a platform for narrative-based cultural production and a tribute to the beauty, complexity, and power of the African diaspora.

Throughout the course, I focused on developing visual concepts, experimenting with graphic treatments, and refining a design language that reflects my identity as a Black man and my desire to build something that puts on for my people. From bold typographic work to textile mockups and brand storyboarding, my process centered around creating elegant, wearable art that resonates with the lived experiences of Black youth today.

Magloire is my way of fusing aesthetic elegance with meaningful cultural expression—and through design, I aim to honor legacy, elevate community, and build a brand that speaks both to where we come from and where we’re going.

As part of developing Magloire, I created original visual designs and mockups for garments and print materials that reflect the brand’s core values. I explored logo variations, color palettes, and illustrative motifs drawn from diasporic symbolism and contemporary Black aesthetics.

To complement the physical side of the brand, I also built out the UI for Magloire’s website. The goal was to create a digital experience that matched the energy and sophistication of the clothing. I designed a clean, responsive layout with bold visuals and intuitive navigation, ensuring that the story of the brand came through just as clearly online as it did on the garments.
