I believe that design thinking is key to enhanced creativity and more fertile manufacturing processes. Good designers should stand with both feet on the ground yet stick their heads in the clouds when they need to.
My Experience.
US Department of Transportation
Washington, DC
In Fall 2022, I served as a Project Development Intern at the Build America Bureau within the U.S. Department of Transportation. During my time there, I helped streamline internal operations by developing new processes and standard operating procedures for project intake and stakeholder engagement. I also played a key role in improving the Bureau’s customer relationship management system by attending stakeholder meetings, documenting project inquiries, and tracking development updates.
Sustainable San Mateo
Stanford, CA
In Spring 2023, I worked as a Student Consultant with Sustainable San Mateo County (SSMC), contributing to their 2023 Annual Indicators Report on child and family well-being in the region. My role involved conducting data analysis, creating GIS maps, and synthesizing insights from expert stakeholder interviews. I also researched and wrote relevant case studies to contextualize local challenges and successes. Our team’s final product—a comprehensive Sustainability Indicators Report—provided actionable policy recommendations aimed at supporting local leaders in building healthier, more equitable communities across San Mateo County.
Capstone Research
New York, NY
In my senior year, I conducted primary research on Black placemaking practices in Central Harlem. I developed a framework to guide my qualitative inquiry, which included ethnographic fieldwork and in-depth stakeholder interviews with community members, organizers, and cultural leaders. Through this immersive, year-long process, I contributed to a deeper understanding of how Black communities shape, preserve, and reimagine space in urban environments.
